Bishop J.R. Thompson
Bishop Dr. Johnny R. Thompson is a native of Louisiana and has had a diverse and accomplished career. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army and served for 26 years before retiring in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 2004.
My Story
During his military service, Bishop Thompson received several awards for his outstanding performance and dedication. These include the Meritorious Service Medal, which is awarded for exceptional achievements during peacetime, and the Army Commendation Medal for his heroic service. He also received the Army Good Conduct Medal for his honorable and faithful service, and the Army Warrior Citizen Award for his selfless sacrifice and excellent performance of duty.
In addition to his military career, Bishop Thompson also ventured into the business world. He became a real estate investor in 1997, owning apartment complexes in New Orleans, Louisiana, unfortunately, they were all destroyed during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He also operated as a self-employed real estate broker in San Francisco, California in 1999. Furthermore, in 2006, he opened a brick-and-mortar Computer Ink store and currently owns and operates a community medical transportation service in Ponca City.
Bishop Thompson's spiritual journey began in 1984 when he received his ministerial license. Two years later, he was ordained at Hays Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the honorable Rev. L.W. Bolton, Sr. of Franklinton, Louisiana.
As a clergyman, Bishop Thompson has held various roles. He is the founder and Senior Pastor of PowerHouse of Faith Christian Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Additionally, he serves as the Bishop of Unification Christian Fellowship International in both Oklahoma and Kenya, Africa. On September 10, 2022, he was installed in the office of Bishop under the Greater Highway Deliverance Ministries, based in New York. Bishop Thompson is also the CEO of Anaiah Community Development Corp, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to community development.
Bishop Thompson has pursued spiritual education to further his knowledge and understanding. He earned his Bachelor of Theology from Slidell Christian Bible College and holds a Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia. In his ministry, Bishop Thompson showcases not only his gift of preaching the gospel but also operates in the prophetic gift, which has been witnessed by many in his ministry.
Outside of his professional life, Bishop Thompson finds joy in his family. He has been married to Dr. Gail Thompson for over 26 years, and she serves as the Associate Pastor of PowerHouse of Faith. Together, they are proud parents of three beautiful daughters. Their eldest daughter, Taliah, resides in Louisiana, while their two teenagers, Keriah and Blesshia, still live at home with them.

Dr. Gail has been called by God to “mend the brokenhearted”. She has been licensed to minister the Gospel since 2002. She was ordained in 2005 at Powerhouse of Faith Christian Center.

She operates in the gift of tongues, discernment, and prophetic ministry. She is passionate about uplifting others in her community and building platforms for others in ministries to fulfill their purpose.
Dr. Gail is the founder of several ministries such as Simplicity of Women Ministry (SOW), Sisters of Sanctification SOS, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and Pastor Gail International (PGI) logo.
She has an associate of Science Degree, an Associate of Biblical Studies Degree, a Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree, a Master of Theological Studies Degree, and Doctoral of Theological Studies in Ministry PhD.
Through all her roles and responsibilities, whether as a Co-Pastor working alongside her husband Bishop JR, writing Christian songs at the church, promoting and hosting women conference speakers, teaching nutrition classes at the church, coaching members to buy a home or start a business, writing poetry and becoming an author, being a wife, mother, sister, or friend, her desires and aim are to help empower women of all ages to become empowered through “pursuing God’s greatness intentionally” because God is her source.
